The instrument has a diameter of 115mm and is 55mm height.
The housing is made up from chrome steel. The scale is seperated by small lines ranging
from 59 to 79 in sence of a clock. An adjustable ring of the same scale carries lines
ranging from 0-35 in opposite direction. All numbers reffer to HECT. In its upper half the
scale carries the writing "Baromètre de Précision Compensé", below axle of
the arrow is written "Ministere de la Guerre". The number of the
instrument is given with "Nr.1". The writing "R.39" also is visible.
According to the previous owner this instrument originated from a captured French airship. |
