The 57,5 cm long instrument was used between 1917 and 1919 as a navigation instrument and as a bomb sight with the U.S. Army Air Servicelange. The item is is splendid condition. The wooden box that was used to store the instrument is complete except for the cover plate. An Expertise of the National Air and Space Museum is accompanying the instrument.
